- Bombay High Court over twenty years after international pop star Jon Bon Jovi performed in Mumbai, has granted the show an exemption from entertainment duty of Rs. 89 Lakhs on grounds that it was revoked arbitrarily two weeks after the performance.
- Bombay High Court while taking note of that it is the Maharashtra government’s responsibility to protect and provide shelter to the children of women prisoners, directed the government to submit a comprehensive reply on what steps it has taken towards implementation of suggestions made by an NGO regarding a policy for such children.
- Bombay High Court observed that ‘relationship’ is not a factor to affect credibility of a witness, and dismissed the appeals moved by six convicts, who were sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a youngster in 2010.
Allahabad high court on Thursday directed the state government to file a reply (counter affidavit) in response to a PIL challenging a government order (GO) to include 17 castes belonging to the Other Backward Castes (OBC) category in the list of Scheduled Castes.
